Wonderful 2 weeks in Shelter Cove
This condo is in a perfect location. The harbor, shopping and restaurants are steps away. The Outside adventure company is also steps away which was great as we took a fabulous dolphin tour. The vacation Company that manages the property was very responsive to all our requests. Access to the Palmetto Dunes was also a real benefit. Great expert!

Fanily Vacation
Fantastic unit in a wonderful location within Shelter Cove. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others. Owners should consider replacing master suite mattress. It was incredibly uncomfortable. Very springy and too soft. Additionally, the dryer needs servicing. It was taking three cycles to get clothes and towels dry. Regardless, we plan to stay again soon! Thanks!

Beautiful setting
Location is everything with this one! Walking to lots of shopping and dining, excursions from the marina, and a beautiful view of the pool and marina. We were spoiled! The only oddity is that there is no door in the master suite from the bed to the bath....not a game changer, but good to know

Great vacation,
Clean and had everything needed for a nice vacation including beach towels. Only suggestion would be that all the TV,s have regular stations instead of streaming stations with limited choices. Seating is a little uncomfortable in the living room. Need the coach to face the TV or add comfy chairs to view tv. Was so lovely!

The shower in one bathroom would not come on. We emailed and texted about it but did not get a reply. There were two other showers but would have appreciated a response.

GREAT STAY
The property was just as descibed and shown in the on-line photos. A gated entrance to the property and security cameras around the property were a plus although the area the property is in is a good area. On the negative side the kitchen needs some updating especially the cooking pots and frying pans. Plus the refrigerator freezer is almost impossible to access and should be replaced with a drawer front instead of a door. Another plus would be some additional lighting in the living room area and instructions on use of the various remote controls in the unit. But, overall, an excellent unit for a comfortable stay.

Yacht Club Condos
Have stayed at Yacht Club the past two years. Love the location! Scenic and functional marina. Multiple restaurants, shops and entertainment within easy walking distance. Within short driving distance are again multiple restaurants, entertainment, shopping center including grocery stores. This area of the marina is quiet. Both condos I have stayed in were excellent and recently renovated. Access to Palmetto Dunes is a plus with no hassle parking at the beach. Loved the early morning strolls on the beach and harbor front. Easy check in/check out process with digital key. Will stay again.

Beach getaway
This was our first time in Hilton Head. This was a great little condo in a good location. We loved the pool right out the back and it was a perfect location for Tuesday night fireworks and boat rental. Beds were comfortable and good shower. The fridge was in an odd location right against the wall so we could not open the freezer door all the way making it very difficult to get anything out of it. Could use a couple larger pots. Loved that beach towels and some beach gear were provided and we didn’t need to bring that stuff. Good communication from the rental company. Would recommend.

Wonderful property on the water
The unit was clean and very comfortable. The kitchen had all of the essentials for basic cooking. The beds were very comfortable and the whole family slept well. The location in Shelter Cove was great with restaurants and shops within walking distances. A lot of boat tours and kayak tours start at this Marina. The beach is about 10 minutes away on a bike which is easily accessible with the bike paths arounds. I would definitely recommend this property.

2025 Beach Renourishment Project 2025 Beach Renourishment Project

THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IS provided by the TOWN OF HILTON HEAD ISLAND

Hilton Head Island's beach is crucial to both residents and the local economy. To preserve this valuable resource, the Town has planned a beach restoration project for Summer 2025, funded primarily by tourism through the local Beach Preservation Fee.

PROJECT OVERVIEW
  • The 2025 beach renourishment is expected to be similar to the previous projects in 1990, 1997, 2006 and 2016.
  • The proposed project will include the placement of approximately 2.2 million cubic yards of beach compatible sand from up to four offshore borrow areas along about 46,500 ft of Atlantic Ocean and Port Royal Sound shoreline.
  • This project is part of the Town's ongoing beach management program, with renourishment scheduled every 8 to 10 years, depending on weather and beach conditions.
  • Pine Island in Hilton Head Plantation will be included in the 2025 restoration.
SAND PLACEMENT

The proposed project will include sand placement along five areas of the island shoreline:

  1. South Beach / South Island - Approximately 750,000 cubic yards of sand along approximately 10,230 feet of the southern Atlantic Ocean shoreline.
  2. Central Island - Approximately 700,000 cubic yards along 28,860 feet of Atlantic Ocean shoreline.
  3. The Heel - Approximately 500,000 cubic yards of sand along 5,280 feet at the northeast point of the island at the intersection of the Atlantic Ocean and Port Royal Sound shoreline.
  4. Fish Haul Creek - Approximately 50,000 cubic yards of sand along about 2,130 feet of Port Royal Sound shoreline.
  5. Pine Island - Approximately 180,000 cubic yards of beach compatible sand and construction of six rock breakwaters on the Port Royal Sound shoreline of Hilton Head Plantation between Dolphin Head and Pine Island.
CONSTRUCTION PROCESS

The nourishment sand will be excavated by hydraulic dredge from two offshore shoal features.

  • Up to 50,000 feet of pipeline will be trucked or floated to the island by way of large rafts, then moved onto the beach.
  • The pipeline will be piled in stacks along the shoreline until needed during construction.
  • During construction, many miles of pipeline will be submerged on the ocean floor between the offshore borrow sites and the beach.
  • The rest of the pipeline will be laid progressively along the newly constructed beach as the fill sand is pumped on shore.

The dredge will pump a mixture of sand and seawater through the pipeline, and will discharge it onto the beach.

  • There, it will flow parallel to the shoreline - allowing the sand to settle out and the water to return to the sea.
  • Bulldozers and other heavy construction machinery will constantly shape the sand to meet the design specifications.

Project construction is expected to last approximately six months, operating around the clock.

  • On average, the process should move along the shoreline at a rate of about 200 to 300 feet per day.
  • As the fill placement progresses, approximately 1,000 foot sections of the beach are closed temporarily to pedestrian access.
  • Several days of work activity will occur seaward of any one piece of oceanfront property in the 1,000 foot active work area along the beach.
  • Once placed and rough-graded, the new beach is immediately reopened to the public.
IMPACTS ON RESIDENTS AND VISITORS
  • Construction noise will primarily involve bulldozers shaping the sand as it is deposited.
  • Disruptions at individual properties generally last about three or four days as the renourishment operation progresses.
  • Adjacent property owners, or renters, may experience short-term minor inconveniences.
