204 Shipmaster is clean and beautiful. Newly renovated. Kitchen could use a few more useful items; ie. spices, aluminum foil, cheese grater to name a few things.

Beautiful
We had a great stay, the place was clean and not far from the beach. I would recommend to people to rent bicycles to ride to the beach if you can. They have walking/bike trails that are safe to get down there. If you drive it is tough to find a parking spot unless you go early. We came down to celebrate Father’s Day and my daughter’s 21st birthday and they left a bottle of Prosecco for us! Was really nice!

Excellent Customer Service
Upon arrival at our unit, we had an unfortunate occurrence. Upon calling the customer care number, the property management immediately sent someone out, moved us to another (larger, better) property (at no additional cost) and insured our visit would not be interrupted or otherwise encumbered. Excellent!!!

Everything was provided to make this a great vacation experience, from laundry soap to coffee filters. The location is perfect to enjoy quiet relaxation and just a short bike ride to the beach and the Coligny shopping area. We loved the pool. The property management was very responsive when I called to ask questions. Altogether a great place for vacation.

Nice unit
This unit was exactly as presented on the VRBO site. Bedrooms very spacious and beds slept great! Biked everyday to beach -10 minute bike ride to beach. Rented cart to use with bikes, worked great! View from back porch was lush and dense but easy walk down to the golf course and pond to see a "distant" view of the alligator. Would rent again...love Hilton Head!

Great Vacation
This renovated property was well -appointed and immaculate. We enjoyed the large bedrooms and spacious living area. Our only complaint is that there was no information in the unit to tell us how to find the pool/beach, etc. While we reported this, no packet was ever delivered. We did have a slight water leak under the sink and the property managers sent a maintenance worker immediately. We would stay here again!

Perfect place on Hilton Head Island
This home is an absolute wonderful place to stay! It is beautifully updated and the beds were so comfortable. It was very clean inside the house. The kitchen was well equipped to make your own meals and there’s even a gas grill on the patio. I also liked that there were no leftover food in the fridge or cabinets whatsoever from the previous renters. This location is very close to beaches, shops and restaurants. We rented bikes for the week and enjoyed riding them in the community and out in town. Check in and check out was super easy!! We really appreciated how easy the checkout process was especially since it is at 10am. The only small details that could use some improvement is that the little walkway to the front door is a little unkempt and had some trash. And also we weren’t made aware of strapping up the trash bin tops-which we learned the hard way when some critters decided to feast on our trash. We would love to stay at this place again.

Wonderful Stay
This condo was as beautiful as the pictures, totally redone, great location & perfect size for a great vacation. Very clean, beds so comfortable. Just a short bike ride to the beach & close to restaurants for easy take out & shopping. Looking forward to returning next year!

Excellent family condo!
We loved our stay in your beautiful condo. We had plenty of space (3 adults, 4 children). The condo was clean, had new furniture, kitchen was fully equipped. While the beach was a good walk of about 15 minutes, we rode bikes and that took about 5 minutes. The one downside was the master (downstairs) was warm with little air. We got a box fan and that helped. We did not call for maintenance on the issue as we did not stress over it so I hate to even mention it. We would absolutely return to this condo because it was so clean and nice.

2025 Beach Renourishment Project 2025 Beach Renourishment Project

THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IS provided by the TOWN OF HILTON HEAD ISLAND

Hilton Head Island's beach is crucial to both residents and the local economy. To preserve this valuable resource, the Town has planned a beach restoration project for Summer 2025, funded primarily by tourism through the local Beach Preservation Fee.

PROJECT OVERVIEW
  • The 2025 beach renourishment is expected to be similar to the previous projects in 1990, 1997, 2006 and 2016.
  • The proposed project will include the placement of approximately 2.2 million cubic yards of beach compatible sand from up to four offshore borrow areas along about 46,500 ft of Atlantic Ocean and Port Royal Sound shoreline.
  • This project is part of the Town's ongoing beach management program, with renourishment scheduled every 8 to 10 years, depending on weather and beach conditions.
  • Pine Island in Hilton Head Plantation will be included in the 2025 restoration.
SAND PLACEMENT

The proposed project will include sand placement along five areas of the island shoreline:

  1. South Beach / South Island - Approximately 750,000 cubic yards of sand along approximately 10,230 feet of the southern Atlantic Ocean shoreline.
  2. Central Island - Approximately 700,000 cubic yards along 28,860 feet of Atlantic Ocean shoreline.
  3. The Heel - Approximately 500,000 cubic yards of sand along 5,280 feet at the northeast point of the island at the intersection of the Atlantic Ocean and Port Royal Sound shoreline.
  4. Fish Haul Creek - Approximately 50,000 cubic yards of sand along about 2,130 feet of Port Royal Sound shoreline.
  5. Pine Island - Approximately 180,000 cubic yards of beach compatible sand and construction of six rock breakwaters on the Port Royal Sound shoreline of Hilton Head Plantation between Dolphin Head and Pine Island.
CONSTRUCTION PROCESS

The nourishment sand will be excavated by hydraulic dredge from two offshore shoal features.

  • Up to 50,000 feet of pipeline will be trucked or floated to the island by way of large rafts, then moved onto the beach.
  • The pipeline will be piled in stacks along the shoreline until needed during construction.
  • During construction, many miles of pipeline will be submerged on the ocean floor between the offshore borrow sites and the beach.
  • The rest of the pipeline will be laid progressively along the newly constructed beach as the fill sand is pumped on shore.

The dredge will pump a mixture of sand and seawater through the pipeline, and will discharge it onto the beach.

  • There, it will flow parallel to the shoreline - allowing the sand to settle out and the water to return to the sea.
  • Bulldozers and other heavy construction machinery will constantly shape the sand to meet the design specifications.

Project construction is expected to last approximately six months, operating around the clock.

  • On average, the process should move along the shoreline at a rate of about 200 to 300 feet per day.
  • As the fill placement progresses, approximately 1,000 foot sections of the beach are closed temporarily to pedestrian access.
  • Several days of work activity will occur seaward of any one piece of oceanfront property in the 1,000 foot active work area along the beach.
  • Once placed and rough-graded, the new beach is immediately reopened to the public.
IMPACTS ON RESIDENTS AND VISITORS
  • Construction noise will primarily involve bulldozers shaping the sand as it is deposited.
  • Disruptions at individual properties generally last about three or four days as the renourishment operation progresses.
  • Adjacent property owners, or renters, may experience short-term minor inconveniences.
