16 Painted Bunting

Four couples who love to have fun and be around the water found this house to be an ideal place to be together! Plenty of space for conversations yet enough for some privacy too! Pool was beautiful to look at and a few ventured in even in early November. We had a couple of nice days the some rain but still had a blast. The house was just perfect and we hope to return!!

We stayed with another family and it was the perfect amount of space for all of us. We enjoyed the short walk to The Salty Dog/South Beach area, the beach and the bikes that came with the rental. My only suggestion would be to add more forks to the kitchen inventory as we kept running out of clean ones. Everything else in the kitchen was well stocked. Thanks for a great vacation!

We really enjoyed our stay. Comfy beds and furnishings. The setting is just gorgeous. Loved the pool and the well equipped kitchen. The only downfall was where you step onto the beach is difficult to maneuver if you have and hip, ankle, or knee issues.

If you value location, convenience and outside amenities over an updated interior like we do, then look no further. They layout of this house was perfect for our needs. We used the upstairs almost exclusively and appreciated the built in baby gates immensely. The beds are very comfortable, the kitchen has everything you need and the smart TVs made our stay very comfortable. But let's talk about location. Holy cow. We saw sunrises and sunsets. We could bike anywhere. We enjoyed protection from ocean breezes while at the pool and convenient access to the ocean otherwise. The landscaping is well done. We didn't even care that the next door house was having roof work done the whole week. It was that calming. I look forward to future stays here!

This house was the perfect house for us. We have 4 little kids and being so close to the beach was perfect. We had some issues with the internet not working, the door code was wrong when we arrived, and the bike code was wrong so we had to call, but overall I have no complaints! I would highly recommend!

We absolutely loved staying here! Wonderful location, beautiful views. Only negative was backyard stays shaded so pool was very chilly. We could have paid to heat pool but very expensive to do so. Overall it was a fantastic trip!

We absolutely loved our time at 16 Painted Bunting! Ocean views & access, a pool (must pay extra to heat) and a wonderful home in general. Bikes provided with the house made it easy to get around the island & Sea Pines itself is such an amazing place to stay too. The house was very close to the Salty Dog (& other shops around Salty Dog) also biked to Harbour Town a couple of times. The Vacation Company was wonderful to work with & we have nothing we could complain about at all! It was a perfect stay

We really enjoyed the location of this house. It was clean and well-stocked. We love the Sea Pines area. It’s nice to be able to enjoy both the ocean side and a short walk to the sound side. We saw marine life daily — dolphins, fish, manta ray, starfish, sand dollars, etc. The kids loved the pool and it was an easy walk to the beach. Would definitely stay here again!

This home was a great place for a family vacation with kids. I loved the wooded yard with the pool. The trees made the yard/pool shaded just enough for most of the day. The home is in Sea Pines, which is a beautiful area. The private boardwalk straight to the beach, pool, and access to the biking trails made this house great for us. We had babies with us and we were able to set up our baby monitors in the house and still be close enough to enjoy the pool while they napped. There is a baby gate at the top of the stairs and a few more are stored in bedroom closets. We also had bigger kids who enjoyed playing in the yard and of course the pool. Since we had babies and kids it was a lot of work to take all our beach stuff down to the ocean to spend time and then the babies would eat the sand, so we didn't spend a lot of time there but it was so close that it was easy to just walk down to the ocean for a quick walk or just take a peek at the sunset without having to bring all the gear. The boardwalk down to the ocean was very nice. The house is a nice, quick bike ride to Salty Dog Cafe. It was so fun to be able to bike to many things. There is a Harris Teeter grocery store just outside of the Sea Pines entry which was convenient for us. The lush greenery surrounding the house gives so much privacy like you're on your own island. We came at the end of April and paid to have the pool heated. It stayed at 90 degrees in the water, which was wonderful and worth the heating cost. I would definitely return to this house again.

First time family trip to Hilton Head and this set the bar high. This home is beautiful, clean, and in an absolute perfect location. Views, easy access to a soft sand beach, natural light, and gorgeous pines surrounding the property. Pool was clean and fun for the kids while my wife and I enjoyed soaking up sun. The property management (vacation company) made everything totally simple. Beach gear rental was flawless. We are so thankful and happy we rented here and hope to do so again.

Nice property with a perfect location in Sea Pines. The sunrises and sunsets were amazing every day! The house was well suited for our family and we had a great time. We appreciated the bikes, pool and the service of the property manager. I would recommend some updating on the deck, outdoor loungers and a thorough cleaning of the air vents and registers. The AC unit worked well but we could not adjust the temp. These are minor things ...overall a great stay in a comfortable and lovely location!

Our kids loved the access to the beach and privacy. The house is traditional sea pines but fantastically updated. We loved the layout and it had every convenience we could need and well stocked Kitchen. Very unique stay and would recommend to any family with kids.

16 Painted Bunting is the total package. The house was beautiful, clean, large, well-equipped, right on the beach, and made our time there spectacular. The pool/jacuzzi spa was a highlight, as well. If you are on the fence about whether to stay here or not, DO IT ! You will not be disappointed. One thing that we brought with us that was very helpful was a wagon made for riding on sand. This helped us get chairs and coolers (and our 1 year old grandson) down the short pathway to the beach in one trip. We really appreciated the large number of beach towels, bath towels, and TVs(6)- including one in every bedroom. We had a pretty strong storm come through on Sunday that filled the pool with a lot of debris. We called the management company and the pool cleaning company came to clean the pool the first thing Monday morning- we were impressed. Overall, we had an amazing time at this beautiful, warm, cozy home.

We had the absolute best time. The location cannot be neat. We were with our 3 year old and both sets of grandparents. Plenty of room and the proximity to the beach made going down so easy. We will be back.

We definitely want to return next summer! This home is ON the beach (and we loved South Beach/Sea Pines area and the wooden walkway to the beach). The kitchen was so very well stocked, but there are restaurants galore nearby. Just a few maintenance issues that need to be addressed: 1) the clothes dryer made an awful rattling noise, then quit working all together. A repairman was scheduled and he came promptly and was able to get it working again, though it still rattled and most assuredly needs replacing. 2) wheels are missing on the bottom rack of the dishwasher which made it almost impossible to empty the dishwasher (which was so very nice and quiet! Obviously a top notch dishwasher, except for the bottom rack). Other than those issues, everything was great!

We spent a wonderful family vacation at 16 painted Bunting. There were eight adults and one baby and the layout worked very well. We loved that there were so many chairs on the deck and pool to accommodate all of us. There were even extra sand chairs and pool and beach toys/games. The property was very close to some great restaurants and golf courses. The only negative was the bugs in the house. Perhaps the pest-control needs to come more often. But still a fabulous time at this beautiful home! Looking to come back again soon!

this was our third or fourth year at this beautiful home. It feels like home to us and is always welcoming ...calming.... and the only place we can seem to ever relax! :-) I am so thankful and grateful to the owner for allowing us to rent this little piece of heaven hideaway. I love the deer in the backyard every morning I love the birds that sit on the deck and I love the sound of the ocean and the smell of the air. Nobody could ask for a more perfect location for vacation.
