So great! Would do it again
This property has so much love inside! We loved the nook with kids book! Of course we were visiting during off season but enjoyed the beach everyday and could walk to different restaurants! Would return or rebook also!

We would definitely stay again!
This property is bigger than it seems! Great location and the property management was easy to work with when our door code didn't work upon arrival. Easy access to the beach and we were able to come in for toddler naps easily without losing a lot of day light walking or driving back to a house. Good kitchen space and pantry storage for food! Bedrooms were great sizes, and the bathrooms were nice with big showers. My 4YO loved the tiny twin room with the sky light. Trash got picked up outside every day and the beach is quiet on this end of the island, which is why we love South Beach! We would definitely stay again!

Beautiful!
Beautiful place to stay, convenient for biking, and enjoying the beach and pool (within walking distance) and all the the South Beach Marina has to offer. Did have difficulty getting house door code to work and didn't know where pool and the gate key for pool were- but Vacation Company helped us out with that.

Perfect HHI Beach Vacay
We have stayed on HHI numerous times and all over the island. This is the first summer beach vacation we have had on HHI and this was the perfect location. It is a quick walk to the beach so we could haul our tent and chairs easily. Bike path right in front and easy to access. Salty Dog a short walk away. Loved it!

Great condo for family with quick beach access
We enjoyed our stay at this condo very much. It was clean and had a well stocked kitchen. The location is great! Located Right across from the marina with restaurants and shops. Both pool and beach are just a short walk (less than 5 minutes). Great area for a family vacation. Would definately stay here again.

Great Value For A Great Villa
The property was clean and beautiful. It reflected the pictures on the website perfectly. It is pretty much as close to the beach as you can get in that area. You do still have to walk through sand dunes to get there, but it’s only a few minutes of walking. The community pool was nice. We could easily walk to it as well. It was also close to Salty Dog, so we could walk to get ice cream or food. Overall, a very nice spot to stay in Hilton Head.

Family vacation
The property was wonderful for our family: young grandkids + our daughter, an old family friend and my husband and me. The bdrm. configuration worked perfectly for all of us, as did the living area. Comfortable as well as beautiful, well equipped (loved the games & books!). Only downside was very very slow-draining tub in dwnstrs. bath!

Excellent time!
We had a wonderful time. Condo was clean and well kept. Plenty of room for our family, grandparents, kids and grandkids. (Age 16, 15 and 1 year old). Everyone had their own space to relax and enjoy. Very close to the beach. Beautiful private beach area. We will return.

Great beach getaway
Very nice property. Clean and very well equipped in terms of dishes, pots, pans, accessories, laundry, beach items, etc. Location is great. Close to beach, although it's a bit of a walk (~100 yds), which can be much if you've got significant beach gear (e.g. a large canopy) to lug to the beach. During our stay, we lost all phone, TV, and Internet service due to a local (i.e. backyard) lightning strike. Although Time Warner was non-responsive (a fix was about a week away, which was after our departure), the people at the Vacation Co. were very customer focused and responsive. Our thanks to Ben for doing all he did to try to get us back online. Even though it was to no avail, we appreciated the effort, as well as the company's offer to make things right. Two suggestions for the benefit of future guests: The small upstairs bedroom, with 2 twins, could use some extra airflow. Guests noted that it was warm a few times. And it would be best if the WiFi router was more centrally located, e.g. in the common area. By placing it in the far corner of the downstairs bedroom, it's currently out of reach of many upstairs guests. By placing it in the downstairs common area, most, if not all, locations should have access. Would certainly return again.
David H.
We've got an Update. The airflow has been resolved in the 2nd floor kids bedroom. The WiFi has improved greatly. The issues mentioned no longer exist. We hope you'll return to stay with us again soon. The Vacation Company

Wonderful!
We stayed in this property in June of 2013, on a trip from Virginia with our three children, to meet up with our friends from Colorado and their three children (6 kids ages 9-20). It was roomy enough for all, and very comfortable and obviously well cared-for! The master bedroom upstairs is large and private with a beautiful bath with full shower. The master bath and kitchen are recently updated and lovely! We could not hear the children talking in the rooms next to us, nor our friends downstairs-- each room is its own sanctuary. The girls loved the children's rooms, which were roomy enough to move around but still cozy, with shelves of books and a tv. The children had no problem sharing the upstairs second bath. Our friends were very comfortable in the downstairs private master bed and bath. (All other bedrooms are up). The furniture and decor is all very pleasant and comfy, with plenty of seating for all. The home is very clean, the space was incredibly functional for all of our luggage, coolers, boogie boards, beach equipment, plus the home has beach toys and equipment onsite for renter use. The deck off of the upstairs master is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the Live Oaks and birds with a drink and a book on a quiet, warm afternoon. The grill on the downstairs deck is wonderful for cooking up dinner for everyone (and the kitchen is fantastic, as well!) and with the deck table, bar seating and dining area, there is plenty of room for everyone to sit and eat! There is a full-sized washer and dryer in a separate laundry room, and a hose directly off of both entrances, so keeping up with beachy clothes and sandy feet is a breeze (also a shower on the walk back from the beach). The walk to the beach is super short (short enough for most of the children to go back and forth independently) and so pretty, and the beach, and sunsets (!!!) are breathtaking as well as the wildlife! We saw deer, sharks (small-- shallow water nursery, amazing variety), rays, LOTS of dolphins, horshoe crabs, hermit crabs, and many birds. All in abundance! The beach is really a special haven! The locals on the beach will strike up a conversation with any visitor, and are so friendly and laid back! The pool, restaurants, etc. are a very easy walk. Bike paths are abundant. We took a daytrip to Savannah, Georgia; which was an easy drive and so worth it, and there are many other close-by daytrips! Pleasant, quiet, private, comfy...we will hopefully stay again very soon!

2025 Beach Renourishment Project 2025 Beach Renourishment Project

THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IS provided by the TOWN OF HILTON HEAD ISLAND

Hilton Head Island's beach is crucial to both residents and the local economy. To preserve this valuable resource, the Town has planned a beach restoration project for Summer 2025, funded primarily by tourism through the local Beach Preservation Fee.

PROJECT OVERVIEW
  • The 2025 beach renourishment is expected to be similar to the previous projects in 1990, 1997, 2006 and 2016.
  • The proposed project will include the placement of approximately 2.2 million cubic yards of beach compatible sand from up to four offshore borrow areas along about 46,500 ft of Atlantic Ocean and Port Royal Sound shoreline.
  • This project is part of the Town's ongoing beach management program, with renourishment scheduled every 8 to 10 years, depending on weather and beach conditions.
  • Pine Island in Hilton Head Plantation will be included in the 2025 restoration.
SAND PLACEMENT

The proposed project will include sand placement along five areas of the island shoreline:

  1. South Beach / South Island - Approximately 750,000 cubic yards of sand along approximately 10,230 feet of the southern Atlantic Ocean shoreline.
  2. Central Island - Approximately 700,000 cubic yards along 28,860 feet of Atlantic Ocean shoreline.
  3. The Heel - Approximately 500,000 cubic yards of sand along 5,280 feet at the northeast point of the island at the intersection of the Atlantic Ocean and Port Royal Sound shoreline.
  4. Fish Haul Creek - Approximately 50,000 cubic yards of sand along about 2,130 feet of Port Royal Sound shoreline.
  5. Pine Island - Approximately 180,000 cubic yards of beach compatible sand and construction of six rock breakwaters on the Port Royal Sound shoreline of Hilton Head Plantation between Dolphin Head and Pine Island.
CONSTRUCTION PROCESS

The nourishment sand will be excavated by hydraulic dredge from two offshore shoal features.

  • Up to 50,000 feet of pipeline will be trucked or floated to the island by way of large rafts, then moved onto the beach.
  • The pipeline will be piled in stacks along the shoreline until needed during construction.
  • During construction, many miles of pipeline will be submerged on the ocean floor between the offshore borrow sites and the beach.
  • The rest of the pipeline will be laid progressively along the newly constructed beach as the fill sand is pumped on shore.

The dredge will pump a mixture of sand and seawater through the pipeline, and will discharge it onto the beach.

  • There, it will flow parallel to the shoreline - allowing the sand to settle out and the water to return to the sea.
  • Bulldozers and other heavy construction machinery will constantly shape the sand to meet the design specifications.

Project construction is expected to last approximately six months, operating around the clock.

  • On average, the process should move along the shoreline at a rate of about 200 to 300 feet per day.
  • As the fill placement progresses, approximately 1,000 foot sections of the beach are closed temporarily to pedestrian access.
  • Several days of work activity will occur seaward of any one piece of oceanfront property in the 1,000 foot active work area along the beach.
  • Once placed and rough-graded, the new beach is immediately reopened to the public.
IMPACTS ON RESIDENTS AND VISITORS
  • Construction noise will primarily involve bulldozers shaping the sand as it is deposited.
  • Disruptions at individual properties generally last about three or four days as the renourishment operation progresses.
  • Adjacent property owners, or renters, may experience short-term minor inconveniences.
PROJECT BENEFITS

Preserving Hilton Head Island's beaches supports the local environment, economy, and quality of life for residents and visitors alike

The project is sponsored and funded by the Town of Hilton Head Island and engineered by is Olsen Associates, Inc.
