As if you needed another reason to thank God you live in the South, we’re going to give you three words that sum it up beautifully: Year. Round. Golf.
Well, our Yankee brethren are forced to retreat from the course as the month of November sends the mercury dropping, we here in the genteel South are free to tee up to our hearts’ content. In fact, there are few better times to get out on the course than November: For starters, the humidity is kept to a somewhat manageable level, meaning you don’t need to stress test the moisture-wicking capabilities of your golf shirt. Second, the cooler air tends to make the no see ‘ums a little lethargic (NOTE: it does not eliminate them completely. Nothing does). But the biggest reason is our area’s golf mecca, Hilton Head Island, enters its most beautiful time of year in November. The summer crush of visitors has faded, leaving the island still crackling with energy but somewhat easier to get around. The streets, once jammed with minivans from Ohio, are yours. So as you plan your November golf trip to the island, let us guide you in creating your ideal golf getaway.

WHERE TO EAT
As long as you’re on the beach, you’re just a short walk from one of Hilton Head Island’s best kept secrets. Coco’s On the Beach may be more of a summer hotspot, with its array of frozen drinks and sand volleyball court, but the cooler weather does have its advantages. Namely, you don’t have to wait as long to try some of the mouth-watering burgers and sandwiches they serve up. Each is made to order, and the menu is delightfully candid about the fact that wait times can get a little crazy during the summer. (PRO TIP: Try the fried bologna sandwich. It sounds crazy, and it is. Crazy delicious.)
